When the sun isn't delivering your Vitamin D, Paragon will
Paragon Customer Communications (PCC), the UK’s leading provider of end-to-end omnichannel services for marketing, transactional, operational and workplace solutions, has put its weight behind a new national government campaign to encourage more than 2.5 million of England’s most vulnerable residents to protect their health and reduce their risk of illness, by signing up for the delivery of a free supply of vitamin D supplements.
In winter people do not always get enough Vitamin D to stay healthy and this has only been exacerbated by the isolation resulting from measures imposed during the ongoing pandemic.
As part of the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) scheme, all care homes will automatically receive a provision for their residents, while individuals on the clinically extremely vulnerable list (CEV) have received a letter inviting them to opt in to receive a free supply of daily supplements, delivered directly to their homes.
Deliveries will be free of charge, starting in January, and will provide four months’ worth of supplements to last people through the winter.
To support those at high risk, the DHSC selected Paragon Customer Communication as a chosen supplier – under the CCS Framework Agreement – to ensure vulnerable people receive their dose of Vitamin D by a novel direct delivery method in 2021.
This is particularly important for CEV people – such as individuals who have had an organ transplant, suffer with severe lung conditions, or are having chemotherapy or antibody treatment for cancer – who are more likely to have been indoors for extended periods due to measures introduced to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Dave Reynolds, Chief Operating Officer, Transactional & Service Divisions at Paragon Customer Communications, said: “At Paragon Customer Communications we want to do our small part to support those individuals that are clinically extremely vulnerable during COVID-19, and have therefore been unable to leave their homes. By supporting the DHSC with the delivery of invaluable vitamin D supplements to those in need, we hope we can contribute to a safer and healthier future for the UK population”
If you are an adult on the CEV list and would like to opt in to receive your free supply of vitamin D before the deadline of Sunday 21st February, visit: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/people-at-higher-risk/get-vitamin-d-supplements/
